Lutsel K'e is located on the south shore of Great Slave Lake’s picturesque East Arm. It is a Chipewyan community and one of the four communities represented by the Akaitcho Territory Government. Until 1992 it was called Snowdrift since it is located near the mouth of the Snowdrift River. Lutsel K’e is a Chipewyan term meaning “place of the Lutsel,” a type of small fish.
